9) One more close-up of the damp moss ang algae covered "waterfall".
8) Many of the animals living here are typical inhabitants of the
bank zone in larger streams, as eg. the beetle
Anacaena globulus.
7) Here is the base of the waterfall, close up. The water is
merely seeping through the moss ang algae.
6) - And here closer on. Even though Pissebæk often is having
only a small flow, there are quite a few interesting species of invertebrates.
Wormaldia
occipitalis is abundant below the waterfall, and at least in the past one
could find Philopotamus
montanus.
5) The summer 2001 was dry. This and the following pictures was
taken
7. august 2001.
The picture shows the waterfall from distance...
4) This is Pissebæk right upstream the waterfall. The picture is
taken 2.
november 2003 (just as picture 3).
3) There was not much water in the brook 2. november 2003. Notice
the dark green "fur" on the rock. This is mosses and algae, giving good life
conditions for the madicol invertebrates living there.
2) On this picturetaken on
15-10-2001 the flow is considerably smaller.
1) The first time I visited Pissebæk was a cold day in
march 1984 together with my friend Stig Eilenberg on this picture.
